F8 Key for HighlightingPosted: March 1, 2010
While the Shift key is good for highlighting in Word (click where you want to begin, hold down Shift and click where you want to finish), some people find it confusing, so there is always our pal the F8 key.
- Position the cursor where you want to begin highlighting
- Press the F8 key once.
- Use the cursor keys directional keys (e.g. arrows, home, end, page up or down), to move over the text you wish to highlight.
- When you have the appropriate amount highlighted, then format it or cut it or copy as you wish.
The F8 key works like this in both Microsoft Word and Excel.
